В Monero произошла крупнейшая за 12 лет реорганизация блоков

Сеть Monero откатили на 18 блоков, из-за чего недействительными стали 117 транзакций. На это обратили внимание пользователи экосистемы.

Реорганизация началась 14 сентября на блоке #3 499 659, когда майнинг-пул Quibic выпустил скрытую цепь, которая оказалась длиннее основной. Узлы сети автоматически приняли ее как корректную, отменив предыдущие блоки.

Исследователь под ником Rucknium подтвердил инцидент на GitHub. Криптоподкастер под псевдонимом Xenu назвал произошедшее «крупнейшей реорганизацией в истории Monero».

Monero was hit by an 18 block reorg a few hours ago, which invalidated 118 transactions. This is the largest reorg in Monero's history. Unsurprisingly ***ic is looking for any way to stay relevant and to stop the bleeding of their dumping price.

Rucknium считает, что Monero придется пожертвовать децентрализацией, чтобы противодействовать влиянию Qubic. По его словам, операторы узлов с высокой вероятностью начнут использовать DNS-чекпоинты — механизм, при котором узлы загружают проверенные данные блоков с доверенных серверов сообщества. Это может стать временным решением для предотвращения повторных реорганизаций цепи.

«Если сообщество Monero не отнесется серьезно к этой проблеме, проект навсегда останется под угрозой внезапного коллапса», — предупредил основатель SlowMist Ю Сянь.

Напомним, 12 августа команда Qubic заявила о захвате большей части хешрейта сети. Исследователи опровергли атаку 51% на Monero, но сообщество выразило обеспокоенность произошедшим и начало изучать возможность модернизации алгоритма консенсуса Proof-of-Work.
