Polkadot установит лимит предложения DOT в 2,1 млрд токенов

Децентрализованная автономная организация Polkadot одобрила жесткое ограничение объема эмиссии токена проекта в 2,1 млрд DOT.

В ходе референдума предложение под названием «Желание перемен» получило поддержку 81% голосов.

Оно предусматривает изменение действующей модели неограниченной эмиссии токена, в рамках которой ежегодно выпускалось 120 млн DOT. В настоящее время в обращении находится 1,52 млрд монет.

Новая конфигурация предполагает сокращение инфляции каждые два года 14 марта — в День числа «пи».

Согласно треку старой токеномики, к 2040 году предложение DOT могло достигнуть 3,4 млрд. По утвержденной модели оно составит около 1,91 млрд . Ожидается, что эмиссия окончательно будет остановлена примерно в 2160 году.

«Дефицит, предсказуемость, долгосрочное позиционирование», — прокомментировали в проекте.

На фоне ограничения будущего рыночного предложения котировки DOT упали примерно на 5%. Актив торгуется на уровне $4,2. Это более чем на 92% ниже зафиксированного в ноябре 2021 года исторического максимума в ~$55.

Рыночная капитализация DOT составляет около $6,4 млрд.

С начала года токен Polkadot потерял примерно 40% стоимости, тогда как активы конкурентов вроде Solana и Ethereum продемонстрировали впечатляющий рост. Вторая по капитализации криптовалюта в августе и вовсе обновила ATH.

Низкие показатели DOT обеспокоили сообщество и инвесторов, вызвав ряд предложений по укреплению позиций актива. Одно из них предполагало покупку за токены на сумму около $2 млн «обернутой версии» биткоина tBTC. Сформированный резерв был призван обеспечить дополнительный доход и создать новые возможности для DeFi на Polkadot.

«Девальвация DOT признана сообществом, нам следует продавать токены и покупать BTC. Я полностью согласен с этим предложением», — прокомментировал один из пользователей.

Однако разработчики признали инициативу нереализуемой технически — у блокчейн-платформы нет прямого моста с сетью биткоина.

В августе на пост CEO стоящей за развитием Polkadot компании Parity вернулся соучредитель проекта Гэвин Вуд.

«Архитектурный фундамент заложен, и рынок готов. Сочетание концепции с повседневной реализацией на уровне генерального директора позволит нам двигаться быстрее и ускорить следующий этап роста», — заявил он тогда.

В том же месяце команда объявила о создании Polkadot Capital Group. Подразделение ориентировано на традиционные рынки капитала и призвано стимулировать институциональный спрос на DOT.

Напомним, в числе 92 заявок на запуск криптовалютных ETF, находящихся на рассмотрении SEC, есть предложения по продуктам на базе токена Polkadot.
