Майкл Сейлор поддержал инициативу по созданию стратегического резерва биткоина в США

Суть законопроекта

В марте сенатор Ламмис вновь представила Закон о стимулировании инноваций, технологий и конкурентоспособности. Законопроект Ламмис включает положения о покупке миллиона биткоинов в течение пяти лет с использованием «бюджетно-нейтральных стратегий».

Документ расширяет указ Дональда Трампа, запрещающий продажу биткоинов и других криптоактивов, которые должны храниться в отдельном «резерве», конфискованных правительством США в рамках уголовного или гражданского судопроизводства.

Директор по связям с государственными органами и государственной политике в Digital Power Network (DPN) Хейли Миллер заявила:

«За последние пару месяцев в сфере цифровых активов было сделано многое, и на осень запланировано еще больше пунктов. Поэтому наша главная задача — обеспечить, чтобы Закон о биткоине и стратегический резерв биткоина оставались приоритетными».

Законопроект находится на рассмотрении Комитета по финансовым услугам Палаты представителей и Банковского комитета Сената. Слушания пока не назначены. Миллер ожидает, что за круглым столом обсудят дальнейшие действия в отношении Закона о биткоине и способы получения двухпартийной поддержки. Сейчас законопроект поддерживают только республиканцы.

Политический фон: новое назначение в ФРС

Накануне Сенат США утвердил Стивена Мирана, сторонника криптовалют, в Совет управляющих Федеральной резервной системы. За него проголосовали 48 сенаторов, против — 47.

По данным Politico, утверждение Мирана прошло ускоренно, чтобы он успел занять должность до заседания ФРС по процентным ставкам, запланированного на вторник.
