Второй подобный отчет — это Annual Global Crypto Hedge Fund Report 2021 (pdf) от PricewaterhouseCoopers. Важный вопрос в контексте принятия криптовалют — в какой мере в сбережениях и объемах торгов преобладают розничные или институциональные инвесторы. И поскольку усиление активности со стороны институциональных инвесторов свидетельствует о принятии криптовалют «мейнстримом», наблюдатели криптовалютной сферы внимательно следят за развитием этой тенденции.
Идентифицировать владельца конкретного криптокошелька — нетривиальная задача. Одни крупные кошельки могут принадлежать частным «китам», другие — например, криптобиржам и, значит, содержать средства многих инвесторов, розничных и институциональных. К тому же одна биржа может владеть и несколькими разными кошельками. Следовательно, разграничение между розничными и институциональными сбережениями будет в лучшем случае неточным.
По оценкам популярных ресурсов, таких как bitcointreasuries.net, общее количество биткойнов на балансах публичных компаний, частных компаний, правительств и других фондов, составляет около 1,39 млн BTC. Доля этих монет в общем количестве добытых биткойнов составляет около 7,2%. Нет ничего удивительного в том, что профессиональные инвесторы держат в основном биткойн (94%) и эфир (75%). В настоящее время мы не предлагаем прямых инвестиций в криптовалюты. Тем не менее мы разрабатываем продукты и сервисы в области цифровых активов.
По одним только ончейн-данным нельзя сказать, принадлежит ли адрес организации или частному лицу. Такие сервисы, как Glassnode и Nansen, используют анализ данных для нахождения более сложных эвристических правил и кластеризации адресов по общим владельцам – субъектам сети, но и у них нет агрегированных данных отдельно по институциональному спросу.
