Теория сознания
Предлагать теории сознания очень неблагодарное занятие, потому, что практически каждый считает себя специалистом в этом вопросе и имеет своё мнение. Ведь сознание это то с чем каждый имеет дело, каждый так или иначе его воспринимает непосредственно, а поэтому точно знает, что это такое. Эта тема всегда вызывает много критики и споров. Но, если разобраться, то даже слово «сознание» не имеет общепринятого определения. Словом «сознание» обозначают состояние бодрствования, говоря: «человек в сознании» или «человек без сознания», а иногда в это слово вкладывается нечто более глубокое то, что позволяет воспринимать окружающий мир и осознавать себя и свое положение в этом мире, процесс мышления и всего такого.
Получается много споров о том, что каждый воспринимает субъективно, и что объективно никак не измерить. Плюс существует много кандидатов на теорию сознания и их апологетов, зачастую эти теории весьма абстрактны и непонятны. Главное, что эти гипотезы о сознании обычно игнорируют главный критерий истинности теории сознания – связь субстрата мозга с сознанием. Теория сознания должна опираться на физическую основу работы живых клеток, сетей нейронов, конкретной активности нервной ткани. Все аспекты теории должны иметь, хотя бы теоретическую, возможность воспроизведения.
Описанная ниже теория, лишь пример того как должна выглядеть теория сознания с моей точки зрения, с позиции критериев которые были обозначены. Теорией сознания занимается множество выдающихся личностей, именитые академики и авторитетные философы, но так и не появилось достойного продукта их труда, который зацепил бы меня простотой и явной связью с мозгом.
Все знания и информацию можно представить в виде графа, именно эту математическую абстракцию мы будем использовать, она наиболее понятна и наглядна, в отличие от сверхзапутанной сети нервных клеток. Но каждый узел нашего графа это представительство некоторого ансамбля нейронов в мозге. Дело в том, что нейронная сеть мозга работает по нейро-детекторному принципу, то есть за какой либо внешний сложный или простой раздражитель или действие ответственны конкретные нейроны. Этот принцип также в шутку называют «бабушкины нейроны», он говорит, что в нашей нервной системе обязательно найдутся нейроны, которые будут активироваться на вид нашей бабушки. И обычно это не один нейрон, а некий ансамбль нейронов, или паттерн активности, или разряженное нейронное представление. Но чтобы упростить нам задачу понимания принципов работы мозга и сознания вместо представления сложного рисунка активности нервных клеток в мозге обозначающих то, что мы видим свою бабушку, мы выделим для этого активность одного узла в нашем графе.
Существует активное направление в искусственном интеллекте, которое основано на идее создания некой онтологии знаний обо всём, о бытие и универсуме, включающих в себе знания накопленные человеком. И эта онтология обычно представляется в виде графа, где каждая сущность будет занимать свой узел, а ребра-связи будут определять взаимоотношения этих сущностей. Практически наш мозг есть хранилище для подобной онтологии о внешнем мире, которая формируются в процессе жизнедеятельности организма. Мы знакомимся с нашей бабушкой и в нашем графе формируется узел «бабушка», а также связанные с ним узлы «вязанные варежки» и «пирожки», и за всем этим опять же стоит активность вполне конкретных нервных клеток.
Определимся со свойствами нашего графа.
Узлом графа может быть практически очень многое, всё подо что центральная нервная система выделяет некую комбинацию нейронов, это и слово, это и зрительный образ, знак, запах, тактильное ощущение, действие, образ действия, некое понятие.
Наш граф взвешенный, то есть каждое ребро, или связь у него имеет вес. Ребра графа можно назвать ассоциативными связями, и конечно эти связи не равны. Какие-то ассоциации для нас будут наиболее очевидными, а какие-то менее, всё исходя из субъективного опыта.
В нашем графе можно выделить специализированные ветви или сектора, к примеру, сектор зрительных образов, или сектор слов и так далее, но в нашем графе нет четких границ, и потенциально любой узел может иметь связь с любым другим узлом графа.
Я позволю себе вольность и для обозначения нашего графа буду в названии применять приставку «гипер-», то есть гиперграф, ну потому, что это звучит, да и нужно уже ввести некие особенные свойства для нашего гиперграфа.
Всё-таки мозг живой в нем непрерывно происходят различные процессы и в нашей математической абстракции нужно это отразить. Прежде всего, нервная активность, нервное возбуждение передается по нервной ткани от нейрона к нейрону, а точнее от группы нейронов к другой группе, один паттерн активности сменяет другой паттерн активности. Так и наши узлы могут находиться в двух состояниях активном и неактивном. Главное что активность обозначает для узла – это возможность изменить веса своих связей, или обучатся. Или по крайней мере активность означает инициализацию изменений вязей, негативный узел находится в режиме сохранения информации.
Возбуждение распространяется в гиперграфе определенным образом. Активность узла длится доли секунд, так как паттерны активности нейронов в мозге сменяют друг друга за доли секунд. Передается возбуждение по всем связям-ребрам узла с весом соответствующему ребру. Чтобы узел активировался, необходимо чтобы единовременное воздействие на него превысило определенный порог. То есть необходимо сложить все веса ребер, через которые передается возбуждение и сравнить эту сумму со значением порога узла. Узел в этом плане очень похож на формальный нейрон компьютерных нейронных сетей, но порог узла не фиксирован, он находится в постоянном изменении. (Так, я понимаю, что пока не понятно, причём туту сознание, но наберитесь терпения)
Первый фактор, который влияет на порог узла это наличие рефракторного периода мембраны нейрона. После прохождения потенциала действия по мембране нейрона, возникает рефрактерный период, в ходе которого возбудимость мембраны падает, а затем постепенно восстанавливается. Стоит отметить, что возбудимость только снижается, а не исчезает совсем, то есть возбудить нейрон все-таки можно, применив более сильное воздействие к нему. В общей работе мозга это выражается в том, что образы или их паттерны активности постоянно сменяются, а длительно концентрироваться только на чём-то одном очень сложно. Поэтому это нужно отразить и в гиперграфе, у его узлов сразу после активации будет повышаться порог, который затем будет постепенно снижаться до прежнего уровня.
Еще один фактор, влияющий на уровень порога узла, это общий уровень активности мозга. Дело в том, что для нормальной работы мозга требуется поддержание в нём определённого уровня одновременно активной ткани, примерно от 5% до 15% нейронов в мозге должны быть возбуждены единовременно. Помнится, ранее был очень активный миф о том, что человек использует мозг лишь, на 5%, и это нужно обязательно исправить. На самом деле активность близкая к 15% свидетельствует о сильном возбуждении или активной умственной деятельности грозящем нервным истощением, а активность свыше 15% может спровоцировать эпилептический припадок. Активность в 5 % свидетельствует о спокойном, медитативном состоянии или о глубокой фазе сна, а сильно низкая активность мозга может привести к состоянию литургического сна или комы. В нейронной системе происходит постоянная регулировка уровня активности мозга и скорее всего это происходит секторально или некоторыми областями коры. Конечно, эти области не имеют чётких границ и могут перекрывать друг друга. Если в какой-либо области коры общая активность завышена, то нейроны этой области коры модулируются на увеличение чувствительности к ГАМК, основному тормозящему нейромедиатору. А если в области наблюдается снижение активности, то модулируются нейроны этой области к повышению чувствительности к глутамату, основному побудительному медиатору, а также понижению чувствительности к ГАМК (гомеостатическая пластичность). Таким образом, можно сохранять необходимый баланс в общем уровне активности во всем мозге. Этот механизм будет очень важен для нашего графа. Уровень активности, или процент одновременно активных узлов будет лимитирован, а достигаться этого можно с помощью оценки общего количества активных узлов в секторе и общей регулировки порога для всех узлов в данном секторе. Разбиение графа на условные сектора и регулировка активность через них, а не через общий параметр для всего графа создает условие для разреженности возбуждения в нём, то есть наши условные 5% не “скучкуются” в каком-то одной локальной области, а будут распределены более или менее равномерно по гиперграфу.
Теперь представите себе большой граф знаний, в котором постоянно происходит некая активность, постоянно загораются и тухнут его узлы, обозначая свою активность, и эта активность сохраняется на определенном уровне, например, условные 5%. Возбуждение перетекает от узла к узлу, оно может разделяться или сливаться, в основном оно двигается по проторенным дорожкам по сильным ребрам, по сильным ассоциативным связям, редко пятясь, так как существует рефрактерный период у узла, могут возникать стабильные навязчивые кольцевые передачи. Да, это очень похоже на какую-то гирлянду, где каждая лампочка это некий образ, и эти образы загораются и гаснут сменяя друг друга.
Движение возбуждения от одного узла к следующему мы назовем потоком, количество таких потоков в гиперграфе определено установленным уровнем активности и размером самого гиперграфа. Такие потоки могут существовать независимо, и как отмечалась, могут разделяться и сливаться.
Наш гиперграф не может существовать отдельно от внешнего мира и для этого к нему нужно добавить сенсоры или рецепторы и актуаторы или мышечные единицы. Для этого у гиперграфа выделим специальные узлы, которые будут связаны с сенсорами или актуаторами. Когда будет активирован узел, связанный с актуатором, будет задействован конкретный актуатор. Но для сенсоров всё несколько сложнее, мы не можем напрямую связать абстрактный узел гиперграфа с конкретным сенсором, поэтому связываем его с образом входного сигнала, например, абстрактный сигнал “звук лиры” в своей основе сложен и состоит из разных частот чья амплитуда изменяется во времени а значит будет задействовать несколько рецепторов в динамике. Далее для простоты опустим это и будем говорить об абстрактном представление внешнего сигнала как об отдельном сенсоре.
Если узлы-актуаторы не представляют для системы угрозы, то узлы-сенсоры легко могут нарушить баланс активности в гиперграфе, если их достаточно много. Поэтому сенсоры связаны не напрямую с узлами гиперграфа, а через специальную фильтрующую систему, снижающую нагрузку на гиперграф. Это таламус.
Таламус мозга представлен ядрами таламуса, на самом деле между ядрами таламуса нет четких границ, как во всём, и в областях коры больших полушарий, так и в секторах гиперграфа. Но всё же для регулировки нам потребуется группировать сенсорные пути по типам, например, зрительные сенсоры, звуковые сенсоры и так далее. На возможное количество пропускаемых сигналов через таламус установлен определенный лимит, причем лимит, как на глобальную пропускную способность, так и лимит для отдельных ядер. Подавляются, прежде всего, слабые и/или повторяющиеся сигналы. Таламус стремится к некоторому стабильному уровню подачи сигналов к гиперграфу, так как он также активно участвует в регулировании общего уровня активности в нем. Если уровень активности гиперграфа падает ниже условных 5%, то можно «подогреть» её дополнительной порцией сигналов из внешней среды, если наоборот активность зашкаливает, то лучше, чтобы гиперграф получал меньше таких сигналов. Также таламус регулирует, как распределить пропускную способность между различными типами сигналов. Если необходимо сосредоточить внимание на зрительных сигналах, то пропускная способность зрительного канала может быть настроена значительно выше всех остальных. Это управление таламусом осуществляется двумя способами: снизу-вверх и сверху-вниз.
Управление снизу-вверх как бы вшито в систему по умолчанию, или от рождения. Громкий звук, хлопок, плач ребёнка, необычный звук автоматически переводят большую пропускную способность к звуковым сенсорам. Быстрое перемещение чего-либо в поле зрения, быстрое приближение чего-либо, что-то незнакомое, имеющее нетипичный окрас, цвет, рисунок, что-то, что напоминает змею, переводит большую часть пропускной способности к зрительным сенсорам. Боль, не предсказанное, неожиданное тактильное ощущение переводят внимание на тактильные сенсоры.
Управление сверху-вниз это управление из гиперграфа, когда потоки в нём активируют множество узлов связанных с сенсорными представительствами в таламусе определенного типа. К примеру, если в гиперграфе фиксируется большая активность в секторе слуховых образов, то это будет влиять на распределённость пропускной способности в пользу звуковых сенсоров.
Я вынужден с прискорбием заявить, но одного гиперграфа нам недостаточно, нам нужно их два. Точнее наш гиперграф можно разделить на две неравные части, которые будут различаться в некоторых свойствах. Первая часть гиперграфа будет олицетворять кору больших полушарий, он практически безразмерен, в нем при необходимости могут создаваться неограниченное количество узлов, веса его ребер очень консервативны, обычно они меняются медленно. Вторая часть гиперграфа олицетворяет гиппокамп, у этого графа ограниченное фиксированное количество узлов, он значительно меньше графа коры, но получает все те же сенсорные сигналы через таламус, что и граф коры. Гиперграф гиппокамп более подвижен, веса его ребер очень быстро меняются. Так как у этого графа фиксированное количество узлов, то эти узлы постоянно меняют свое образное значение. Узлы гиппокампа могут формировать связь с любым узлом коры, и наоборот.
Гиперграф гиппокампа как бы гиперграф коры в миниатюре, но имеет важную особенность распространения возбуждения, любые возбуждение в нем стремиться слиться в один поток. Это значит, что практически всегда, при малом количестве сенсорной информации в гиперграфе гиппокампа активен только один узел, или очень малое их количество. Это явление назовем фокус внимания. Фокус внимания очень тесно связан с сенсорными сигналами, фактически он управляется ими, стягивается узлами-сенсорами в ту или иную часть гиперграфа гиппокампа.
Как уже я уже писал выше сенсорные сигналы дублируются на оба гиперграфа, поэтому в гиперграфе коры помимо множества потоков, определяющих общий фон активности, есть поток который как бы синхронен с фокусом внимания. Узлы фокуса внимания и синхронного потока в гиперграфе коры будут формировать ребра друг с другом. Можно выделить из активных узлов гиперграфа коры узлы связанные с фокусом внимания в отдельную группу. (Так, пожалуй нужно немного трактовки)
Разделение на два таких гиперграфа позволяет промоделировать несколько важных аспектов психики.
Во-первых, разделение памяти на временную и долговременную, также консолидацию памяти (переход памяти из временной в долговременную). Так как, у гиперграфа коры веса ребер изменяются медленно, то есть требуется большее количество сочетаний при обучении, то он больше подходит для хранения информации которую требуется хранить долговременно. В свою очередь, веса связей гиперграфа гиппокампа изменяются быстро, то есть при обучении нужно меньше количество примеров, но при этом ограниченность в количестве узлов в этом гиперграфе приводит к высокой вероятности также быстро переобучиться. Гиперграф гиппокампа ответственен за временную память. Сенсорные сигналы дублируются на оба наших гиперграфа, по факту они будут обучаться одному и тому же, но если информация представлена малым количеством сочетаний, то обучаться ей успеет только гиперграф гиппокампа, а так же этой информации предстоит в дальнейшем стереться другими актами обучения. Но, если информация повторятся достаточно много раз, то она успевает отразится и в гиперграфе коры, откуда ей пропасть значительно сложнее. Внешне возникает ощущение, при определённых условиях, переноса памяти из временной в долговременную, но по факту ничего такого не происходит ни в наших гиперграфах, ни в мозге.
Во-вторых, мы можем выполнять различные действия осознанно, концентрируя на них внимание и многие действия могут выполняться неосознанно, как бы на автопилоте. В гиперграфе коры присутствуют узлы-актуаторы, при активации которых происходит различные моторные акты, или действия. И активироваться эти узлы могут как от “свободных” потоков, так и от потока фокуса внимания. По нашим условиям, поток фокуса внимания практически всегда единичен, а свободных потоков значительно больше, хотя и лимитировано общим уровнем активности гиперграфа. Благодаря чему, мы можем не задумываться как ходить, как при необходимости почесать переносицу, или сделать глоток напитка из кружки даже не отвлекаясь от чтения интересующего нас текста, именно на эту задачу мы направим весьма ограниченный ресурс фокуса внимания, именно у этой активности гиперграфа гиппокампа будет возможность обучатся, а значит отразить в памяти.
В-третьих, мы можем объяснить эффект инсайта. Если человек продолжительно решает какую-либо задачу, то возможна ситуация, когда решение этой задачи приходит внезапно, как бы из ниоткуда. Но на самом деле мы не воспринимаем (не запоминаем / не осознаем), те потоки которые протекают вне фокуса внимания. Хотя они могут выполнять свою работу по решению беспокоящей нас задачи, и это решение вполне может сложится, или хотя бы представится в виде вариантов решения. Когда фокус внимания обратится к этому готовому или почти готовому решению, возникает инсайт.
Вопрос: почему мы воспринимаем и осознаем только поток связанный с фокусом внимания, а не все потоки?
- На самом деле мы не можем ответить на этот вопрос в терминах “восприятия” и “осознания”, так как в рамках мозга или нашей модели это лишь иллюзия, абстракция которая появляется лишь внутри наших гиперграфов, но не проявляется в самой модели никак. (Погодите, не бросайте в меня камнями, я попытаюсь объяснить.) Всё, что происходит в момент восприятия это запоминание. Память явно выражается в нашей модели как изменение весов ребер гиперграфов. Фокус внимания полностью контролирует активность гиперграфа гиппокампа, а значит располагает его возможностью быстро обучаться, то есть запоминать. Причем запоминается очень быстро, благодаря большой концентрации в синапсах нейронов гиппокампа NMDA-рецепторов. Эти рецепторы могут быстро изменить чувствительность всего синапса, им достаточно извлечь “магниевую пробку” для этого, не меняя структуры и размеров синапса, структурные изменения будут требовать времени, и они производятся потом, если это потребуется. Поэтому в памяти отражается на ограниченное время практически всё и моментально. Если говорить в рамках гиперграфа гиппокампа, то также гибко и быстро будут изменяться отношения его узлов, или веса рёбер. Когда мы обращаемся к своему восприятию, “что я сейчас ощущаю?”, то обращаемся к памяти об этих ощущениях, которые прошили миг времени назад, может быть доли секунд. Мы просто не в состоянии оценить чем мы оперируем в этот момент времени воспоминаниями или непосредственно ощущениями. Да-да, это означает, что физического проявления восприятия у нас нет, физически проявляется только память, в изменении состояний синапсов, рецепторов и так далее, ощущение непосредственного восприятия лишь иллюзия. И эта иллюзия очень важна, важна настолько, что сформировалась в процессе эволюции.
Вопрос: Но, все же, мое восприятие целостно и непрерывно, это не похоже на просто воспоминания. Если это иллюзия, то как возникает ощущение целостности восприятия?
- Для начала, ощущение целостности восприятия присутствует не всегда и не для всех, существует множество патологий, психиатрических проблем или химических отравлений (разными средствами) при которых целостность и непрерывность восприятия попросту перестает работать, что зачастую является большой проблемой. А значит, за этим явлением стоят конкретные механизмы, которые можно нарушить или остановить. Более того нарушить этот механизм можно по разному и в разной степени.
Разобраться в теме нам поможет книга Майкла Газзаниги “Кто за главного? Свобода воли с точки зрения нейробиологии”, она рассказывает об исследовании людей перенесших операцию по рассечению мозолистого тела (каллозотомия), что фактически разделяет два полушария мозга, полушария теряют возможность общаться друг с другом. В связи с чем, возникают некоторые патологии поведения, личность человека практически разделена, но неравномерно из-за того, что различные функции мозга могут быть размещены в разных полушариях. Левое полушарие мозга, получает информацию с правой половины поля зрения и управляет правой половиной тела, соответственно правое полушарие наоборот. В левом полушарии расположены основные речевые центры области Брока и Вернике, в правом полушарии речевые области представлены в относительно малом количестве, фактически делая личность связанную с правым полушарием немой. А когда мы будем опрашивать такого пациента, то будем общаться посредством речи только с личностью связанной с левым полушарием. Возможно, при синдроме чужой руки, мы услышим жалобы левополушарной личности о непослушной и своевольной левой руке подчиняющейся правополушарной личности.
Но, в большинстве случаев даже разделенный мозг стремится к единению и сотрудничеству. После операции люди сообщают, что не испытывают никаких изменений в их восприятии, хотя это не так. При одном эксперименте, в левой части поля зрения испытуемого с перенесенной каллозотомией предъявляют страшные, жуткие изображения, что вызывает у испытуемого явные признаки стресса, повышенное сердцебиение, участившееся дыхание. В правом поле зрения испытуемый видит приветливое лицо лаборанта, с которым он давно знаком. Испытуемого спрашивают, о причинах его тревожного состояния. Но, так как левополушарная личность не имеет доступа к левой части поля зрения (не видит страшных изображений), и только она может вербально отвечать, то эта личность начинает выдумывать обоснования своему состоянию, к примеру, ссылаясь на то, что лицо лаборанта наполнило другого человека с которым произошла трагедия, и тому подобное. Но, никогда пациент не будет упоминать раздробленность своего восприятия и личности, так как он не в состоянии это оценить. Майкл Газзанига с соавторами выдвинул идею того, что существует специальный механизм Интерпретатор, который заставляет личности интерпретировать любое свое поведение или восприятие как целостное и подчиненное некой своей внутренней воли.
Если Ваш Интерпретатор работает как надо, вы никогда не признаетесь в раздробленности вашего восприятия, или личности, всё, что вы делаете, всё совершается только по вашей воли, единственной личности. К сожалению, не все могут похвастаться отлично работающим Интерпретатором, если разобрать один из симптомов шизофрении “чужие внутренние голоса”, то выясняется, что голос не “чужой”, так как является внутренней речью самого шизофреника (“чужому” голосу сложно пробится если внутренняя речь занята, к примеру, пением, стихами), эта речь лишь воспринимается как чужая. В данном случае, наблюдается явный сбой в работе механизма Интерпретатор, некоторые реплики внутренней речи не воспринимаются как свои собственные действия.
На самом деле мы не сможем найти область мозга или его отдел который ответственен за механизм Интерпретатор. Но, как же в нашей гиперграфовой модели отразить этот механизм?
В гиперграфе коры, как говорилась ранее, постоянно присутствуют множество потоков их количество определено размером гиперграфа и установленным уровнем его активности. Практически один такой поток в гиперграфе коры связан фокусом внимания, единичным потоком в гиперграфе гиппокампа. Активность узла фактически даёт ему возможность обучаться, изменять веса связанных с ним ребер. Но, критерии обучения для узла связанного с фокусом внимания и “свободных” потоков будет разные. Для узлов фокуса внимания критерий положительного подкрепления (reward) будет достижение какой-либо внешней цели, удовлетворение какой-либо потребности. А, вот для активных узлов свободных потоков, не связанных с фокусом внимания, критерий положительного подкрепления будет является содействие в достижении подкрепления для узлов фокуса внимания. На примере. Человек хочет пить, это желание заставляет фокус внимания сконцентрироваться на задаче утоления жажды, в гиперграфах коры и гиппокампа будут активироваться узлы абстрактных представлений “жажды”, “воды”, “питьё” и т.д. Если свободные потоки коры связанные с моторными действиями таки поднесут ко рту стакан с водой, то они будут действовать в содействии с потоками фокуса внимания, а значит получат подкрепление, и произойдет акт обучения, даже без концентрации внимания на выполнении данного моторного акта. Тем самым разные по функциональности нейронные сети или части гиперграфа учатся действовать сообща, отчего возникает ощущение действия совокупности нейронных сетей мозга в общих интересах и достижения целей. Представьте, если бы этот механизм не работал или работал плохо, то это породило бы множество несогласованных нейронных цепей внутри одного мозга.
Наш Интерпретатор помимо прочего защищает нас от экзистенциального кризиса. Человек который бы полностью ощутил и полностью понял последствия операции по разделению его мозолистого тела, был бы поглощен проблемой экзистенциального кризиса, что принесло бы сильнейший стресс. На самом деле Интерпретатор причина по которой теории подобные описанной о полной фрагментированности сознания и восприятия не будут приниматься на инстинктивном уровне. Только полностью абстрагируясь от своей самости возможно понять себя и что такое сознание.
Механизм Интерпретатор действительно нас защищает, представьте субъекта который перенес сильные травмирующие психику события, память об этих событиях отразилась в гиперграфе коры. Когда узлы травмирующего события будут попадать в фокус внимания, это будет негативно отражаться на эмоциональном состоянии субъекта, то есть лучшей стратегией дальнейшего обучения потоков связанных с травмирующем событием это избегания попадания в фокус внимания. Фактически память о травмирующем событии так и оставит своё место в гиперграфе, но механизм Интерпретатор возможно сможет как бы изолировать фокус внимания от потоков приводящих к негативным воспоминаниям. Если таких таких травмирующих воспоминаний много, то возможно даже разделение личности субъекта на две или несколько отдельных личностей, которые будут обладать отдельными воспоминаниями.
Рене Декарт основоположник идеи дуализма души и тела, он выделял сущность души, как нечто отдельное и независимое от тела. В те времена понятие душа было синонимом понятию сознание. По сути Декарт говорил о разделении сознания от субстрата мозга (тела). Но, он считал душу (сознание) чем-то единым и неделимым, он целенаправленно искал в мозге область которая была бы не парной, чтобы объявить её вместилищем души. К сведению, не парных отделов в мозге нет.
Со времен Декарта наука, в частности нейрофизиология прошла достаточно большой путь, и постулат о неделимости сознания давно подвергается критике. Во-первых, к сознанию можно применить мерную шкалу. Несомненно, не только человек обладает сознанием, но и животные, хотя мы понимаем, что сознание человека превосходит сознание других животных, а значит должен быть способ оценить эту степень превосходства. Самое простое оценить сознание по мере сложности поведения которое оно даёт. Во-вторых, становится понятно, что то, что мы называем сознанием - это совокупность сразу нескольких взаимосвязанных явлений, которые мы можем выделить. Причем составные части сознания не обязательно должны присутствовать в полной мере все, чтобы сознание состоялось. У животных могут полностью отсутствовать некоторые составные части сознания, которые присутствуют у человека, в свою очередь и человек может испытывать состояния измененного сознания при котором работа некоторых этих составных частей будет нарушена. Перед философами современности стоит серьезный вызов определить и описать составные части сознания и их мерности, а также связи этих частей с субстратом мозга. Уже прошло время споров о наличии сознания у животных или философских зомби, так как сознание сложно, мерно и состоит из нескольких составных частей.
Интерпретатор.
С первой составной частью сознания мы уже познакомились - это Интерпретатор. Это механизм без которого невозможна согласованная работа множества нейронных схем. И Интерпретатор тем сложнее, чем больше нейронных схем он объединяет. Но, особую сложность имеет человеческий Интерпретатор, который буквально защищает от экзистенциального кризиса и создает сильную иллюзию целостности и неделимости восприятия, благодаря чему возникает ловушка в решении загадки сознания. Видимо эволюционно это было необходимо, чтобы существо с развитой нервной системой воспринимало себя целостно и неделимо.
Попробуем ввести шкалу мерности для механизма Интерпретатор (проценты условны).

Система подкрепления.
Еще одной, очень важной составной частью сознания назовем механизм подкрепления или награды. Чтобы осуществлялась какая-либо когнитивная деятельность необходима движущая сила, внутренняя мотивация. Причина мотивации является цель получения подкрепления. Многим кажется, что когда мы удовлетворили свои базовые потребности, и размышляем или философствуем о чём то, то наше сознание свободно от поиска награды, и мы объективно оперируем нашими мыслями. На самом деле это не так, сознание не может быть свободным от поиска награды. Как только прекратится подкрепление наших действий, в том числе нашего внутреннего диалога, сознание тут же остановится.
Давайте вспомним замечательное произведение Оливера Сакса “Пробуждения”, оно еще было экранизировано не менее замечательным фильмом “Пробуждение” (1990). Книга и фильм повествуют нам о нескольких пациентах перенесших летаргический энцефалит, который приводил к полной деградации дофаминовых нейронов. То есть мозг этих людей полностью лишался возможности вырабатывать нейромедиатор дофамин, а значит эти люди полностью теряли механизм подкрепления. Внешне эти пациенты были полностью безынициативны, они даже самостоятельно не меняли свою позу, если приподнять их руку, она так и будет находится на весу, пока вы её не опустите. Если их вести, они идут, если посадить они сидят, если бросить в них мячик они его поймают и замрут. Более того они даже не ведут какого-либо внутреннего диалога. Но стоит им назначить прием препарата на основе леводопы (предшественник дофамина), что хоть немного помогает оставшимся клеткам вырабатывать дофамин, они буквально оживают или пробуждаются.
Что касается дофамина, то встречается много неправильных трактовок его связи с удовольствием. Сам дофамин удовольствия не приносит, но его наличие провоцирует к секреции множества других веществ, опиатов, гормонов, что приводит к некоторым изменениям внутри организма и психики иногда приводящей к состоянию которую можно обозначить как эйфория. По сути уровень дофамина напрямую указывает на уровень удовольствия и соответственно подкрепления. Для подкрепления важно не сколько общий уровень дофамина, сколько его относительное увеличение. Хотя малое количество дофамина не приводит к явным признакам удовольствия, его небольшие скачки способствуют обучению и подкреплению. Каждый раз делая свайп пальцем по экрану нашего гаджета мы подкрепляем это действие небольшой порцией дофамина от новой информации сменившейся на этом экране.
Существует заблуждение, что якобы дофамин не связан с самим удовольствием, а только с предсказанием удовольствия. Это заблуждение связано с неверной трактовкой нескольких известных экспериментов [https://journals.physiology.org/doi/full/10.1152/jn.1998.80.1.1]. В случае дофамина, следует говорить не о предсказании награды, а о получении награды заблаговременно, так сказать авансом. Логично поощрять организм когда он непосредственно удовлетворил конкретную потребность, к примеру, попил, поел и так далее, и это делает наша система подкрепления. Но, эволюция выявила, что очень эффективно награждать организм и когда он только нацелен на удовлетворение какой-либо потребности, тем самым укрепляя те действия которые приводят к удовлетворению. Прошу прощения, но если бы секс награждался только в конце акта, а сам процесс нет, навряд ли он был бы интересен животным которым процесс этот был бы связан с дискомфортом и большой потерей энергии, таким как слоны, ежи, черепахи, люди.
Первая особенность развитой системы подкрепления, это то, что она награждает в случае непосредственного удовлетворения, но и в случае только предвкушения, предсказания удовлетворения потребности. Но, человеческая система награды, пошла еще дальше и сформировало самоподкрепление. Это удивительно, но человеку не требуется непосредственное удовлетворение какой-либо потребности, чтобы получить удовольствие, он может делать это просто силой мысли.
Особенностью человеческого мозга является хорошо развитая префронтальная кора, она эволюционно сформировалась на основе обонятельных анализаторов, эта часть мозга тесно связана с лимбической системой, центрами ответственными за эмоции и удовольствия. Отмечается большое количество связей как прямых, так и обратных префронтальной коры и лимбической системы. По сути префронтальная кора имеет возможность управлять, или по крайней мере влиять на работу лимбической системы. У человека есть больше возможностей контролировать свои эмоции, при необходимости сдерживать их, а иногда и подстегивать. А некоторые наши мысли могут привести к повышению дофамина. Приятные воспоминания, мысль о перспективе награды, поощрения, похвалы или доминирования могут поднять нам настроение. Но, почему же тогда человек не зависает, постоянно стимулируя себя приятными мыслями? Ну, отчасти это действительно так и происходит, наш внутренний монолог практически никогда не останавливается. Мы можем моделировать некоторые бытовые диалоги, продумывать что купить или что приготовить, или философствовать о том, что такое сознание. И весть этот поток мыслей направлен на цель получения вознаграждения.
Вместе с самоподкреплением эволюция создала и защиту от зависания, высокий уровень привыкания к подкреплению через мысли. То есть одна и та же мысль которая приводила нас к повышению дофамина, очень быстро теряет свою силу и необходимо искать что-то другое. Центры удовольствия становятся толерантны к одним и тем же сигналам от префронтальной коры. Поэтому поток мыслей практически всегда заполняет наше сознание когда мы не заняты другой когнитивной деятельностью. Ну и стоит сказать, что самоподкрепление относительно более слабый источник удовольствия чем реальное удовлетворение какой-либо потребности (в норме). Поэтому иногда человек предпочтет удовлетворить потребность в новизне елозя пальцем по своему гаджету, нежели погружаться в свои размышления.
Давайте приведем пример того когда эта система работает не правильно. Для шизофрении свойственны два синдрома один негативный и один позитивный. Негативный синдром связан с общей деградацией нервной ткани, сильно теряются нервные клетки и связи. Позитивный синдром (не в том смысле, что он оказывает позитивное действие, а в том, что он привносит что-то новое в систему мозга) связан с повышенной чувствительностью дофаминовых рецепторов, то есть по сути создает аномальное усиление некоторых механизмов подкрепления. Что приводит к чрезмерному злоупотреблению самоподкреплением через мысленную активность, учитывая механизмы привыкания, этой мыслительной активности требуется всё больше и больше. Непрерывный поток активных размышлений и мыслей может увлечь на многие часы, переходя от бытовых рассуждений до философский изысканий и абсурдных фантазий. В совокупности с общей деградацией нервной ткани мозга и как говорилось ранее нарушенной работы механизма Интерпретатор, человек может потерять способность различать реальность и свой вымысел. Другая крайность это летаргический энцефалит (симптомы описаны выше) или, к примеру, болезнь Паркинсона, которая также связана с деградацией нейронов вырабатывающих дофамин, это безынициативность, без эмоциональность и практически прекращение внутреннего диалога.
Механизм подкрепления движущая сила сознания, без него невозможно мышление, и невозможно представить сознание свободное от желаний и внутренних мотивов. Конечно, мы можем оценить механизм подкрепления и награды с точки зрения силы влияния его на непосредственно поведение, но в ключе мерности сознания разумно оценить механизм награды по уровню его развития от подкрепления удовлетворения потребности до самоподкрепления.

Чувство собственного тела и его границ (ЧСТ).
Уже из двух примеров составных частей сознания, можно увидеть тесную связь этих частей. Механизм Интерпретатор работает на основе механизма подкрепления и награды, и в какой-то степени эти две составляющие, хотя бы в малых долях, обязательны для возникновения сознания, хотя бы его слабой версии. Следующая составная часть сознания может показаться необязательной, но это неотъемлемая часть психологической целостности личности, самости, самоидентификации без которой невозможны целенаправленные действия и восприятие мира - это чувство собственного тела и границ тела.
В нашем мозге выделены некоторые области (body representation areas, somatosensory cortex), некоторые нервные схемы ответственные за образ нашего тела. То есть где-то в гиперграфе коры есть специально зарезервированные узлы, которые ответственны за карту тела, за сенсорную информацию от тела, в том числе информацию от проприорецепторов для формирования представления о положении и позе тела. По сути в нашем мозге есть некая модель нашего тела, причем она достаточно строгая и стабильная. Несогласованность внутренней модели тела и реального тела могут привести к существенным проблемам и дискомфорту. Самый простой пример это фантомные боли, боли потерянной или ампутированной конечности, или внутренний образ ампутированной конечности мог “застыть” в неудобной нетипичной позе, что тоже приносит сильный дискомфорт. Существует и обратный пример, когда во внутреннем образе тела отсутствует какая-нибудь конечность, это приводит к навязчивому стремлению лишить себя данной конечности, желание провести операцию по её ампутации. Человек с такой патологией ощущает, что отсутствующая во внутреннем образе тела конечность, для него инородно, или чужая, словно пришита к нему и мешает ему нормально жить. Более подробно о подобных случаях можно прочитать в еще одной замечательной книге Оливера Сакса “Человек который принял свою жену за шляпу, и другие истории из врачебной практики”. Очень рекомендую это произведение всем кто задается вопросами сознания, чтобы увидеть примеры о сознании не только в стандартном стерильном состоянии, но и примеры его нарушений и патологий.
К некоторым изменениям внутренняя модель тела всё таки способна. Мы можем эту модель дополнять. Как только мы возьмем в руки инструмент или орудие как оно становится частью продолжения нашего тела. Мы можем буквально ощущать не только габариты и положение своего тела, и делать это с учётом наличия и взаимодействия с различными предметами. При достаточном опыте возможно ощущение габаритов и положения в пространстве даже автомобиля которым мы управляем, как часть своего тела. То есть присутствует некий механизм дополнения модели тела, при необходимости.
Существует специальный тест призванный оценить обладают ли животные способностью к идентификации своего образа - это зеркальный тест. Зеркальный тест является методом, используемым для оценки самосознания и самовосприятия у животных. Этот тест основан на наблюдении реакции животных на свое отражение в зеркале. Животные, обладающие способностью к идентификации своего образа, проявляют признаки осознания себя как индивидуума, который существует отдельно от окружающей среды. Шимпанзе, гориллы, орангутаны, дельфины и слоны - некоторые из животных видов, показывающих признаки самосознания в зеркальном тесте. Однако не все животные проходят этот тест успешно. Некоторые животные могут реагировать на свое отражение, как если бы это был другой представитель того же вида, а не они сами. Зеркальный тест является одним из способов исследования самосознания в животном мире. Он помогает нам лучше понять, какие виды обладают осознанием себя и насколько развито их самосознание.
Чувство собственного тела и его границ хорошо развито у животных ведущих стадный образ жизни и тех животных для которых очень важны социальные роли. Эволюционно очень важно отличать свое действие от действие своего соплеменника, границы своего тела от границ тела другой особи, особенно если постоянно контактируете с этими другими особями. Это может объяснить почему зеркальный тест проходят муравьи на ряду с животными у которых довольно развитая нервная система.
Развитое человеческое чувство собственного тела формирует наше представление себя как субъекта действующего во внешнем мире.

Абстрактное мышление.
Следующая составная часть сознания является отражением сложности и размерности нервной системы и мозга - это способность к абстрактному мышлению. Абстрактность - это надстройка над реальным, объективным и рецептивным, но эта надстройка может быть настолько многоуровневая, что может быть потеряна связь с реальным. И можно выделить уровни абстрактного мышления, и максимальный уровень доступный животному будет напрямую зависеть от развитости нервной системы. Человек является животным с самым развитым мозгом на Земле и соответственно его уровень абстрактного мышления является самым высоким, но и на мой взгляд этот уровень абстрактного мышления является крайним. Даже если мы встретим существо с более развитым мозгом его уровень абстрактного мышления будет сопоставим с человеческим.
Основной для абстрактности является работа рецепторов. Рецепторы - это специализированные клетки или нервные окончания, которые обнаруживают и реагируют на различные стимулы внешней или внутренней среды организма. Они играют ключевую роль в восприятии и обработке информации о внешнем мире. Многообразие рецепторов означает, что рецепторы воспринимают только определенный тип стимула или модальность. Например, зрительные рецепторы специализированы на восприятие света, а тактильные рецепторы специализированы на восприятие касания или давления. Модальности - это различные типы стимулов, на которые рецепторы специализированы. К примеру, зрительная модальность относится к стимулам света и цвета, слуховая модальность относится к звукам и т.д. Каждая модальность имеет свои уникальные рецепторы и способы обработки информации.
Отталкиваясь от рецепторов как от основы мы попытаемся описать уровни абстрактного мышления.
Нулевой уровень. Прямая реакция на конкретный раздражитель или рецептор говорит об отсутствии абстрактного мышления.
Первый уровень. Образы на основе комбинаций рецепторов одной модальности, привязанные к конкретным рецептивным полям. Пример, это первичная зрительная кора, здесь свойственно формирование нейронов (колонок) реагирующий на контрастные линии конкретной ориентации и в определенной области поля зрения (Дэвид Хантер “Хьюбел Глаз, мозг, зрение”).
Второй уровень. Образы одной модальности не связанные с рецептивными полями рецепторов. Вторичная обработка зрительной информации (V2, V3, MT) уже не связывает образ с конкретным положением его в поле зрения. На этом уровне мы теряем связь абстрактного образа с рецепторами, а значит с объективным, реальным миром.
Третий уровень. Комплексный или мультимодальный образ - является комбинацией, смешиванием различных одномодальных образов в единый и цельный образ. Третий уровень абстрактности обеспечивает ассоциативная кора. Например, образ лимона будет включать в себя не только визуальный образ фрукта, но и соответствующий ему образы запаха и вкуса.
Четвёртый уровень. Образы действий, отношений объектов, субъектов. На основе комплексных образов объектов порождаются образы действий над этими объектами и образы взаимоотношений с субъектами. Переместить, владеть, отдать, принять, забрать и многое другое. Приматы, такие как бонобо обученные языку жестов демонстрируют данный уровень абстрактности. Взаимодействие ассоциативной коры и префронтальных областей обеспечивают данный уровень абстрактности.
Пятый уровень. Символьное мышление. Символ - это абстрактный образ который не имеет аналогов в живой природе, обладает значением в символьной системе которой принадлежит. Символьное мышление появилось как результат развития образного мышления объектов, но объекты подчиняются законом природы как внешней системы, символы подчиняются правилам символьной системы, которая полностью сформирована нервной системой. Символьное мышление возможно благодаря сильно увеличенной, по сравнению с приматами, префронтальной и ассоциативной корой.
Шестой Бесконечный уровень. Благодаря рекуррентности на основе символьного мышления и речи Человек может строить новые уровни абстрактности неограниченно. Грубо говоря, символьные образы сформированные в префронтальной и ассоциативной коре интерпретируются в речи в областях Брока, Вернике, мозжечке и других речевых областях, в свою очередь речь формирует новые образы которые могут сформировать новые представление в префронтальной коре и так по кругу. Плюс речь позволяет коммуницировать с другими особями и к развитию абстрактного мышления подключается социально-культурный аспект в виде возможности использования результатов работы мозга других людей и вычислений электронных устройств.
Развитие символьной системы начинается с создания базовых символов и операций, таких как логические операции в Булевой алгебре. Затем на основе этих базовых символов строится транзисторная логика - символьная система нового уровня. Используя транзисторную логику, создается язык программирования низкого уровня для работы с аппаратным обеспечением компьютера. На основе этого языка разрабатывается язык программирования высокого уровня, который предоставляет более абстрактный способ написания программ. С помощью языка программирования высокого уровня создается программа управления радиотелескопом, которая работает в новой символьной системе. Полученные данные интерпретируются для описания движения звезд вокруг черной дыры, используя другую символьную систему - физическую теорию.
Илон Маск заявлял, что главная опасность возникновения Сильного Искусственного Интеллекта (СИИ) является то, что у него будет настолько высокий уровень абстрактного мышления, что мы не сможем его понять. Но, на мой взгляд Человек должен будет создать некую новую символьную систему для понимая СИИ, так как Человек не ограничен в построении уровней абстрактного мышления, он потенциально может понять любую системы. Никто не видел используя собственные органы чувств атомов, электронов и кварков, но мы способны понять некоторую их природу используя соответствующие символьные системы настолько, что практически используем некоторые их свойства в своих целях. Никто не видел используя собственные органы чувств черные дыры или темную материю, но мы способны создавать символьные системы для изучения их. В Человеческом мозгу возник инструмент позволяющий строить неограниченные уровни абстрактного мышления.

Речь
Для возникновения бесконечного уровня абстрактного мышления, как было упомянуто, требуется развитая речь. Речь - это еще один важный (но не обязательный) механизм сознания. Речь - это система управления образами, смыслами и информацией.
Наш мозг, можно сказать, перерабатывает множество информации получая её от органов чувств, которых насчитывается пять, помимо этого информация от внутренних органов и других систем организма. Продуктом переработки этой информации является управление различными секреторными железами организма, и в большинстве своем это моторные действия. И речь это прежде всего сложное моторное действие. Даже при внутренней речи (наш внутренний монолог “про себя” не произнося вслух) происходит микросокращения артикуляционных мышц достаточные для регистрации их рецепторами проприоцепция, тем самым мы “слышим” внутреннюю речь.
Если человек глух или нем, том его речь может сформироваться на основе жестового языка глухонемых, в этом случае внутренняя речь будет происходит на основе уже не артикуляционных мышц, а мышц используемых при жестикуляции.

В своей статье “Что такое сознание” (2017) я подробно разбирал тему речевого круга. Произношение речи (обычной или внутренней) - это процесс с постоянной обратной связью через проприоцепцию и слух, в процессе которого формируется некая цепочка связанных смыслов и информации. Это можно назвать потоком мысли, но этот поток имеет явные отличия от потоков которые происходят в гиперграфе. То есть помимо потоков гиперграфа мог может формировать особенный поток смыслов - речевой поток, который имеет обратную связь через рецепторы и соответственно постоянно находится в фокусе внимания.
Механизм Интерпретатор приводит к тому, что нейронные сети коры обучаются содействию потоков фокуса внимания. Речь в том числе внутренняя всегда находятся в фокусе внимания, это приводит к тому, что при развитии человеческой психики она формируется вокруг декларативной основы. Мы все аспекты своей психики, действий, намерений описываем с помощью речи, формируя тем самым “декларативное Я”. По сути, декларативное Я это лишь сложный высокоуровневый образ, он связан с образом тела. Другие нервные схемы, потки гиперграфа, можно сказать, стремятся сохранить ощущения целостности и наличия воли, некой общей и единой системы контроля намерений. Но, важно отметить, что даже при отсутствии механизма речи у сложной нервной системы будет ощущение целостности и воли благодаря механизму Интерпретатор, но только не связанное с декларативным Я.
Появление речи в эволюции, не было постепенным, фактически для появления речи потребовалось сочетания нескольких факторов - это высокоуровневое абстрактное мышление (развитость определённых областей мозга), и формирование соответствующего речевого аппарата, и формирование первоначальных речевых навыков. Когда эти факторы были эволюционно подготовлены, то и само появление речи дало и сильный толчок к развитию этих факторов ускоряя процесс формирования системы речи. Эксперименты по обучению приматов жестовому языку глухонемых указывают на то, что их мозг способен к овладению языка, но есть явные ограничения в уровне абстрактности которое им доступно, и ничто не указывает на наличие внутренней речи или формирования декларативного Я у них.

И так, сознание представляет собой развитый активный гиперграф с пятью (пока) механизмами которые могут иметь различную степень развитости: механизм Интерпретатор, система подкрепления, чувство собственного тела, абстрактное мышление, речь. Это главный вывод теории сознания о которую я попытался донести. Не считаю её полной и проработанной, но для меня она является рабочей, так как работая над изучением механизмов работы нейронов и простых нервных схем, мне необходимо заглядывать вперёд и видеть общую картину, чтобы видеть возможность масштабировать то, что я разрабатываю. Преимущества этой теории в том, что общий механизм работы мозга описан достаточно простой схемой работы гиперграфа, которая тесно связана с принципами работы биологического субстрата мозга. Еще эта модель более формализована и может теоретически быть запрограммирована и реализована. Пока к сожалению у меня нет в описании алгоритмов формирования узлов гиперграфа, их научения, то есть создания и изменения связей в рамках графового представления. Но есть понимание того, как всё это происходит в рамках нейронных сетей на основе нейро-детекторного подхода. (habr: “Искусственные и биологические нейронные сети” 2023)
Ну, и конечно эту теорию можно применять практически, давая оценку уровня сознания.

Большие языковые модели имеют явную стадию обучения где используется большое количество данных, но в моменте их непосредственного использования в чат ботах нет никакой системы подкрепления, нет внутренних мотивов к действиям, возможна только реакция на заданный запрос пользователем. Чувство собственного тела не заложено в виду его отсутствия. Уровень абстрактного мышления ограничен архитектурой сети и количеством слоёв и отсутствием рекурренции, хотя он достаточно высок и позволяет манипулировать символьными образами. В какой-то степени мы входим в эпоху когда мы будем философствовать на тему устройства сознания не только человеческого или биологического типа, но и других типов сознания.
